Visit the oldest Japanese umbrella manufacturer, founded in 1690, to make your own Hime Wagasa, a miniature Japanese umbrella. The making of wagasa is a unique Kyoto experience that is not widely available elsewhere.

Craft a Hime Wagasa (length ~27cm, diameter ~35cm). Start by selecting bamboo for the umbrella framework and your favorite washi paper out of 180 different designs! The washi paper used is original to Kyoto and sourced from traditional paper shops.
