This course takes you on a relaxing, slow cycling tour along the Yoshino River, centered around the “Wakimachi Udatsu Townscape.” This town, lined with traditional buildings from the mid-Edo period, once flourished as a hub for indigo merchants. The “Wakimachi Udatsu Townscape” retains much of its old charm, with stylish cafes and indigo-dye shops housed in refurbished buildings, making it an ideal spot to stop and explore during the tour. Cycle along the traffic-free embankment of the Yoshino River, crossing over to Anabuki. Stop by a long-established Japanese sweets shop to enjoy traditional treats, and then continue cycling through Maechushima, a major indigo-producing area, before returning to the townscape.

What do I need to bring?
