Learn the Art of Traditional Origami in Shinjuku

1.5 hour

Easy

Join an origami workshop and explore the history and symbolism behind each shape.

Your instructor Manami, has been practicing origami since the age of 3 and offers not only paper folding techniques but also insights into the history, stories, and meanings behind each creation.
After seeing various origami designs made by the instructor, you will choose the ones that resonate with you the most and create 3 to 5 beautiful shapes. Select from a range of origami papers, from traditional “washi” to modern patterns and craft your unique design.
As you finish each piece, the teacher will share stories and explain the significance of the shapes, such as the cultural importance of the origami crane in Japan. You’ll be guided through each fold to stay on track, so feel free to ask any questions along the way!
