- What to Wear: Please wear clean white socks (or bring a pair to put on before entering the tea room). Short skirts, bare feet, and heavy jewelry that might scratch the delicate tatami mats or historic tea utensils are prohibited.
- Seating Arrangements: The traditional ceremony takes place sitting on tatami floor mats (Seiza position). However, low chairs or cushions can be provided upon request for travelers with back or knee discomfort.
- Dietary Restrictions: The seasonal Japanese sweets (Wagashi) are usually vegan-friendly and made from sweet bean paste and rice flour, but please inform us of any severe allergies at least 3 days in advance.
- Private Residence Notice: Because this is a rare window into a private home, guests are expected to strictly respect the property and the surrounding residential neighborhood's quiet environment.
