Join a Japanese archery experience in a shrine! Start your experience by changing into a Hakama, a traditional pleated skirt-like garment. After learning the basics of Kyūdō through hands-on guided practice, move to the real 28-meter shooting range. Here you will test your skills with a bamboo bow (Daikyū), one of the few opportunities for beginners to try a real bamboo bow.
As you go through each step, shift your focus entirely on the present moment. It’s not just about hitting the target but about engaging in the mindful process of archery. From drawing the bow to releasing the arrow, stay mentally and emotionally centered, grounding yourself in each moment of the practice.
The gloves, made by a local company in Kagawa Prefecture, known as “Glove Town,” reflect the region’s 90% share of the domestic glove market. During this two-hour experience, you’ll also enjoy tea and budou mochi, a traditional local sweet, which consists of smooth red bean paste wrapped in a thin layer of dough and has a history of about 350 years!
Suit up in a pleated Japanese Hakama garment before heading to the archery range.
Experience drawing a real "Daikyu" bamboo bow at a professional 28-meter target.
Savor traditional local budou mochi paired with fresh green tea inside the shrine.
This entire experience takes place within an authentic Japanese shrine, offering an atmosphere of tranquility and heritage that public sports centers cannot match.
Take home a piece of local industrial pride. Your package includes a pair of take-home archery gloves made in Kagawa, Japan's famous "Glove Town."
This lesson shifts focus away from competitive scorekeeping, encouraging you to slow down, control your breathing, and master the present-moment process of drawing and releasing.
