Kana is a Japanese writing system that was developed in the Heian period (794–1185). During this experience, participants will practice using a traditional Japanese brush and paper while learning how to move the brush correctly and achieve fluent artistic writing styles in Kana calligraphy.
Guests will also learn how to write a message about their world, write words on practice paper, and create a small fan or Shikishi colored paper using Japanese ink. During the experience, participants will have the opportunity to tour a workshop where traditional textiles are produced while enjoying green tea and sweets.
